I’m delighted to say we have re opened 🙂 There are a few changes to let you know about, for your safety and ours. Firstly we have changed the opening hours to 9am – 3.30pm Monday to Saturday. We are running a “one out, one in” policy, so please wait outside if someone is being served, we will be as efficient as possible and try not to keep you waiting! Shopping by appointment, I understand that not everyone needs just a watch battery and jewellery is a considered purchase where you need to take your time and enjoy the experience without distraction! With this in mind, if you would like to book an appointment when you (and one other) can have the shop to yourself, please call 01728602116. I will be reserving from 3.30pm to 4.30pm Monday to Saturday for private appointments, which MUST be pre booked, please call and leave a message if it is out of hours. With regard to hygiene and safety, we would ask our customers to use the hand sanitiser provided before entering the shop, we have a screen at the till point and have masks and gloves to wear if you would like us to, and I would like to assure you all that we are taking every precaution possible to be able to protect you in these difficult and often challenging times. Hopefully in the not too distant future we will have worked out the kinks, and will be able to offer you a good and enjoyable shopping experience! If you see anything that you think could be done better differently, we are open to suggestions! I hope to see as many of you as possible in the coming weeks and months, and sincerely thank you for your continued support and for bearing with me while we work out this “new normal”!! Jackey x
We’ll Be Back!
Following the latest government announcement, we have been informed that all non essential shops will be allowed to reopen as of 15th June, barring any further changes. I hope you agree with me that jewellery is anything but “non essential” 😉 With this in mind we are gearing up to welcome you all back again as before lockdown, for all your silver, gold, diamonds and gemstone needs as well as all kinds of repairs including jewellery and watches and even bespoke creations! We will obviously have to change a few things to accommodate social distancing, so we will have a “one in-one out” policy running that I sincerely hope does not inconvenience any of our lovely customers, and trust you will understand why it is necessary. I don’t know about you, but I have laid down a few pounds of “lockdown lard” in these weeks we have been closed, but that doesn’t matter because no matter what you weigh your earrings will always fit!! Jackey x
Tick Tok, It’s What O’clock??
Just in case you hadn’t seen it in my other posts, yes I am still changing watch batteries during lockdown! If you have a watch that has stopped and needs a battery, please just put it securely protected in an envelope with your name and contact details on, and I will change the battery and arrange to get it back to you. I can also still supply you with anything that I have in the shop, so if you need a present or something special I am only a phone call or message away!! I check the phone, email and messenger service every day for messages, so you can get in touch even though the shop door is closed at the moment. If I can be of any help, I will happily do so! Please call 01728602116 or email jackey@btconnect.com or send me a message via Facebook, I’ll get back to you as quickly as I can!
As Proud As Punch!
I am so very proud to say that I was asked by the Suffolk Horse Society to design and make a range of jewellery for them to sell to raise funds to continue the good works carried out to help promote and save this critically endangered heavy horse breed. The Suffolk Punch horse is an enigma, such a strong and powerful animal, yet with such gentleness and patience, you can’t help but fall in love with them!! I should know, I used to look after and show Suffolk’s for a living before I became a jeweller (in another lifetime many moons ago!!) and I have a home bred Suffolk filly who I adore! The design shows a harnessed and braided Punch with the motto and the Society’s initials, I have in the range a tie pin, brooch, and cuff links on chain or swivel fittings, and I have made them chunky and solid just like the horses themselves! Everything is limited edition (I have 100 pieces i.e. if I sell only cuff links there will be 50 pairs!) and they are made to order with delivery taking approximately 2-3 weeks, they are available directly from me either by placing an order on my website or by phoning the shop on 01728602116. ALL profits from the sale of these items will be donated to the Suffolk Horse Society expressly to help with breeding grants to stallion and mare owners who dedicate themselves to saving this wonderful rare breed so very close to my heart!
Staying Safe
I hope that everyone is keeping well and staying safe during these unprecedented times. I don’t really know what to put in this post if I’m honest. I guess I just want to thank all those working on behalf of all of us, all the absolute heroes of the NHS, everyone working in all the care professions and all those staffing the shops able to remain open, not to mention all the farmers and their staff who work tirelessly to provide food for the table! Today marks two weeks of being closed, and I am sure we will be closed for a good while longer sadly. I am so grateful and blessed to have my lovely little shop, I have truly cherished members of staff who I count myself lucky to work with, and loyal valued customers that have supported me over the years and become friends along the way. Reading this back to myself it strikes me as a little sombre!! I don’t feel that way. While this is scary and very nerve wracking, I am positive that when we all come out the other side of this we will be stronger both as individuals and as a community. That’s my prayer anyway! Stay safe everyone, and watch out for more updates and products that I will be uploading soon!! Jackey x
Closure :-(
I have taken the difficult decision to close the shop until further notice because of the COVID19 virus. The health and wellbeing of my lovely customers and wonderful staff is the most important thing at the moment, and hopefully if everyone pulls together and follows the government guidelines correctly we will bring about a return to normality all the sooner. I would like to thank everyone for your understanding at what is a sad time, but please rest assured that I will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so. In the meantime, I will be checking messages daily so if you have a repair with us or any queries please do leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I am also happy to change batteries if you put the watch in a protective envelope with your name and telephone number on it and drop it through the letterbox, and I can drop them back to you if you are in Saxmundham and the surrounding villages by arrangement. Also, if you need a gift or something special please leave me a message and I will call and we can arrange something! I hope to see you all very soon when all this madness is over, look after yourself and others, love Jackey x
An Announcement from Womble
Not to make light of the current situation, but it’s driving Womble to drink! In these uncertain and challenging times, we would like to assure our lovely customers that we are doing everything possible to ensure everybody’s safety and health. We have hand sanitiser available in the shop, the handles, surfaces and card machine are cleaned regularly and we wash hands after each interaction. None of us know what lies ahead, but until we are told otherwise we shall be open as normal for all your jewellery requirements, the workshop will remain open to deal with repairs and bespoke orders, and you can still get your watch batteries fitted as normal! Stay safe everyone, and look after each other.
Just Her Cup of Tea!
Don’t forget it’s Mothering Sunday on 22nd March, give her a call, send her a card, let her know she’s loved! We have lots of lovely gifts to show you care, pretty silver pendants, bracelets, rings and earrings staring from a few pounds that will do the deed without breaking the bank! Pictured here are a few of the tempting choices available, all with a touch of gold to add some zing to Spring!
Love Imprinted Forever
Tragically last year a lovely lady lost her beloved husband to the wickedness that is cancer. She had decided that she wanted something with his fingerprint on it to wear always, and eventually decided on a bracelet. We had to make something robust that would stand the test of time, yet not make the bracelet itself look masculine despite this robustness. Her biggest worry though was that the fingerprint was actually his, as she had heard that some online companies say that is what you are getting when it is just any random fingerprint. With our “Keepsake” range were able to guarantee everything and put her mind at rest, and it was wrapped for her to open on Christmas Day. Not a dry eye in the house!!
Message From an Angel
This is a silver keyring with a difference! You may have noticed that before Christmas I had posted some information on a new range we have started supplying called The Keepsake Collection? This collection allows you to capture a baby’s footprint, a son’s fingerprint, a dogs pawprint, a daughter’s first doodle, to be able to write a note to someone special, and to have them all immortalised on a piece of jewellery. Or on this occasion, a keyring! This particular one I gave to my Mum for Christmas, I managed to secretly get a scan of my Dad’s signature from an old passport which went on one side, and I had found some of his writing from which we were able to make up the sentence “I love you” for the other side. Have you got something you want to immortalise? We can help!
